South By Southwest (SXSW) – Part 4 & Final Thoughts

The last day of SXSW, I decided to attend a couple of sessions and the keynote featuring Brian Ek from Spotify. The first session, held at the Hilton, was a panel that featured David Meerman Scott. The session was very interesting and insightful. I took some notes and participated in a brief discussion with the panelist from Newell Rubbermaid.

South By Southwest (SXSW) – Part 3

We started out Monday with a visit to the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in downtown Austin.  It was an interesting experience and we learned a lot about Texas.  The exhibits were well laid out and there were three floors worth of exhibits.  We also decided to go to one of the history shows in one of their theaters.  It was a very fun 4-D Experience, I highly recommend that you purchase that option if you visit.  The kids will enjoy it.

South By Southwest (SXSW) – Part 2

Before we headed to SXSW, we started out Sunday by heading to South Austin to do a little shopping in the antique shops and grab a bite to eat.  The concierge at our hotel suggested we spend a little time there.  He was right.  There are a lot of small, boutique stores and restaurants there.  We were able to find a parking spot on the street and walked down the block.  The weather was awesome and the shops were fun.  We wanted to get a little fun in before the show.

Star Trek Convention – 2009

Every year Star Trek fans from all over the planet converge for one week on the Las Vegas Hilton.  They are affectionately known as “Trekkies”.  To the outside world, it may seem a little odd, but within their community speaking in Klingon (tlhIngan Hol in Klingon) or having in-depth discussions about Episode V in Season 2 is as common place as a blue, pin-striped suit is on Wall Street.
