Sales Tip #1

I know this sounds basic and elementary.  However, over the past 2 yrs I’ve experienced an increase in this sales tactic that doesn’t work.  The tactic I’m referring to is the practice of SPAMMING your inbox with unwanted emails after you’ve given the person your business card.

I meet dozens of new people every week at social functions, meetings, and events.  During this process, business cards are exchanged.  Then, sometime later I start receiving unwanted emails trying to sell their goods and/or services.  That’s one of my biggest pet peeves. 

I don’t want to buy a product or service from someone who sends me SPAM.  Not only that, but I won’t refer anybody to that person either!  Why would I refer a friend or colleague to a person or company who does this?

What’s your opinion/experience with this?
